Have you ever fancied learning to spin, weave or make rugs?  Well you’ve come to the right place here at The Threshing Barn.  We can run craft courses tailored exactly to your needs and to suit exactly when you want to come. Our craft courses are arranged at times convenient to yourself and are not tied to specific dates or days of the week. (except Monday, when we are closed).  The list is at the foot of this page – click on the ones you’re interested in to find out more.

We are open all year, by appointment.

We also run a series of special pre-arranged craft courses on set dates. These can be found in our 2013 programme.

Craft Courses run from 10 am – 4.30 pm.

The cost of a Basic Course is £45 per person, per day. (Students £38, Children £32)

A 50% deposit is required with bookings. Deposits are non-refundable but your booking can be transferred with 7 days notice. School holiday and birthday party workshops are available for children. There is a ground floor workshop available with access for people with disabilities. Basic materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Additional material costs are incurred on some craft courses.

New Courses

We will also be holding a selection of new craft courses by visiting craftspeople in stained glass, corn dolly making, pole lathe turning, cane seating, calligraphy etc. Our special workshops will be advertised on our calendar – please request a copy.

Craft Supplies

We stock a large and varied selection of craft materials-spinning wheels and accessories, weaving looms, peg looms, bobbins, weaving sticks, warps, pure wool yarns and exotic fibres, raw and cleaned fleece, Gaywool dyes, felt and needle felt supplies, silk scarves, collage packs, novelty yarn packs, craft and embroidery kits, rag rug tools and canvas, willow and rush, soap supplies, books, card supplies, baskets and containers, dry flowers and floral accessories.
