April Courses

Tuesday 2nd, View from the Peak District.

Bring along your favourite photographs and translate into your own Peak District felt landscape picture with our dyed wools. Cut out dry stone walls, rock formations and millstones out of hand dyed merino pre-felt. Embellish with embroidery when dry if required.

Sunday 7th, Woollen Vases.

Beautiful vase covers can be woven on either a peg loom, cardboard loom or directly onto a tall symmetrical vase. Choose from natural wools decorated with wooden buttons, sea-shells, natural pebbles or perhaps our colourful textured yarns decorated with with multi layered wet felt beads, sliced to reveal stunning patterns similar to Millefiori. All materials and vases included.

Tuesday 9th, Pebble Necklaces.

Laminated felt beads will be made by cutting out decreasing shapes in hand dyed merino pre-felt. Needle felt these layers together to form bead or pebble shapes. When finished tie into a tea towel and put in the washing machine to further felt while we have lunch. Make your cords on a small lucet and thread on your felt pebbles and decorative beads.

Saturday 13th, Three C’s – Cabled, Crocheted, Cowl.

Pauline will show us how to make cables in a crocheted cowl. We will use subtly hand dyed double knit wool, on a normal crochet hook to create four stitch cable patterns. You will need to be able to crochet basic stitches to attend.

Saturday 20th, Garden Journal.

Get ready for the gardening season by making this beautiful journal in which you can record your floral planting and plan your vegetable beds. Using collage techniques with photos, magazine cuttings, seed packets, hand made floral paper and pressed flowers create your own beautiful book. A sewing machine will also be needed.

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th, Wonderwool Wales.

A truly wonderful wool, fibre, craft and sheep event in Builth Wells. We will be there with all our goodies.
