March Courses
Saturday 6th – Frozen Winter Collage
Working in a limited range of wintery colours create illusions of glimmering rock formations, tumbling frozen waterfalls and windswept hills. Explore a variety of shimmering materials from silk, foils, nets and paper. Your collage can be further embellished with stitching and beads.
Sunday 7th – Cheshire Bobbin Clickers
Craft and lace making event, see us there at Nantwich Civic Hall.
Thursday 11th – Threaded Vessels
Delicate patterned papers, Sari ribbons and fabrics are cut into strips and built up into layered pattern sequences, onto tall vase formers. By applying layers of glue a beautiful delicate vessel is created. By applying contrasting stitching details can be emphasised.
Sunday 14th – Debbie’s Buttons
A great day to learn new techniques to make a selection of buttons using fymo, pewter, friendly plastic, etc. Buttons can be used to decorate your knitting, felting, jewellery, card making, etc.
Wednesday 17th – St. Patricks Day
Our complementary spinning afternoon from 1.30 to 4.30pm. Inspired by the Emerald Isle, Good Luck Clover leaves and Guinness.
Sunday 21st – When is a Cowl not a Cowl?
Knitwear Designer Veronica Shaw returns to run this workshop which is an adventure into more delicate cabling to create an individual necklace from our fine cashmere fingering decorated with buttons, beads and ‘blackberries’ for a pretty unique look. Not only decorative
but warm too!
Saturday 27th – Bakewell Farmers Market
Sunday 28th – Colour Exercises
We all use the words, shades, tones, hues, contrasting, complementary colours but do we really understand their meaning? Using shapes of felt that we’ve made and squares of knitting we will explore a series of colour experiments, to understand how these exercises can be used to best advantage in our textile work.
