June Courses

Saturday 1st, Fabric Handbag.

Using our new fabric printed knitting tape, hook through a canvas bag shape which has been sewn on the machine. With circular knitting needles knit the fabric into a frilled edging and sew round the top of the bag. Add on the handles and stitch in a fabric lining.

Saturday 8th, Willow Sculptures

These sculptural garden spheres will look stunning in your garden either on gravel, suspended from trees or mounted onto branches. Also make a willow flower or butterfly to suspend over the flower beds.

Tuesday 11th & Wednesday 12th, Floral Art Yarns.

11th – A fibre preparation day using hand cards, drum corders, combs to prepare colourful rolags, batts and rovings inspired by a summer garden. Spin a selection of singles ready to explore plying into your yarns tomorrow.

12th – Create your own flower show yarns from different plying methods. Navaho ply your yarn threading on pre-felt cut flowers into the loops, ply yarns with wired silk flowers and add needle felted flowers afterwards.
Both workshops will need to be taken, less 10% for booking both.

Saturday 15th, Seaside Basket.

Mally returns with this willow basket workshop incorporating beach combed treasures such as driftwood handles, fishing nets and decorated with sea-shells. A great day to learn traditional basket making skills.

Saturday 22nd, Driftwood Mobiles.

Create a collection of mobiles to hang in the trees of your garden for the summer. Using strong yarns, weave a variety of braids on lucets, finger weaving sticks, French knitting bobbins and a cord maker. Decorate your braids with sea-shells and suspend from drift wood frames.
