July Courses
Saturday 3rd – Under the Waves
Pauline Fitzpatrick textile artist will run this creative free-form crochet workshop. Create small samples that are inspired by the waves, sea shells and fish. These samples are then joined together to make a panel. Be amazed at her jumper she created for a friend with a seascape theme, an amazing textile work of art.
Sunday 11th – In the Loop
You will create a colourful felt looped bowl reminiscent of the 50’s plastic swimming hats covered in loops and flowers. We will learn how to make a thick bowl of felt around a plastic resist. Once dry our Balinese batik cotton will be cut into strips or if you prefer our Sari silk ribbon, will be hooked through the bowl. Final decoration will be large silk flowers hand stitched to the felt.
Thursday 15th – South Cheshire Embroiders Guild
I shall be giving a talk and be selling supplies.
Saturday 17th – Willow Craft Basket
Local basket maker Mally Gower will show us basic basketry skills using soaked English willow. You will learn the following techniques, 3 through 3 base construction, staking up the sides, weave patterns and finishing the edge. Combine with wool and ribbons if desired.
