January Courses

Saturday 16th – Winter Wonderland – 1.30 to 4.30pm
A complementary afternoon to introduce our spinning themed days which will run once a month, but on different days so you all have a chance to join us. Just bring along a drop spindle or spinning wheel and your imagination. I will provide all materials. For this first afternoon we will spin a hank of wool inspired by the snow, frost and ice, white merino, silver cord, sparkling angelina fibres and mulberry silk. Please phone and book.

Thursday 21st – Icicle Scarf
Using our Gaywool Dyes, dye our Wensleydale curls in cold wintery colours. These curls are then softly felted into a core of merino wool. The curls look like tiers of icicles tumbling down your scarf.

Saturday 23rd – Criss Cross Weaving
Explore new techniques of creating textiles and patterns onto a peg loom warp, using rag rug techniques such as hooking, locker hooking, tufting etc. To continue our winter theme, we will work in a limited colour palette of wool, fabrics, nets, ribbons, etc. Create additional movement by crossing warp threads.

Saturday 30th – Bakewell Farmers Market.
See us there with all our woollen yarns, scarves and blankets to keep you warm this winter.
