2nd Tuesday – Summer Shawls
Explore a variety of weaving and felting techniques to create light weight, patterned, open weave shawls. Ideal to cover up your shoulders on cool summer evenings or for talking on holiday.

4th Thursday – Childrens Weaving Day
A fun day to explore how to make simple looms from cardboard boxes, a rigid heddle loom from an old greeting card and a woven basket on a cardboard former.

6th Saturday – B & B, Bubbles and Bags
A background fabric will be constructed by sandwiching together dyed snippets of coloured fabric, Angelina, threads, bubble wrap, chiffon or shear fabric. These layers will be transformed by heat into a top transparent layer so fabrics underneath are visible. This fabric will be transformed into a beautiful handbag.

7th Sunday – A Day at the Seaside
Create an atmosphere felt seascape. Lay down a woollen yarn warp and cover the top half with a base of merino wool. Decorate with blended merino, Wensleydale curls and silk fibres. Knot the remaining warp threads into a fishing net. Suspend your hanging onto a piece of driftwood and decorate with sea shells.

10th Wednesday – Family Paper Day
Come and have fun making a selection of hand made papers, decorated with flowers, tea, sawdust, hay etc. We will use different techniques to make double sided papers, positive/negative shapes using pastry cutters.

12th Friday – Core Spinning
Our complementary spinning afternoon, to discover the art of core spinning, e.g Alpaca onto a core of wool. Booking required.

13th Saturday – Needle Felted Sculptures
Carol creates the most fantastic detailed needle felted figures and sculptures. So I have persuaded her to give us a workshop in how she constructs these figures.

16th Tuesday – Bouquet of Roses
A celebration of the rose in a variety of techniques and mediums. Small French fragranced rosebuds are made into round rose pomanders. Knit a crimped wire rose which can be made into a corsage. Make silk roses from sheets of hand dyed silk paper that you made.

20th Saturday & 21st Sunday – Fibre Fest
A textile event every 2 years, now to be held at Bicton College, East Budleigh, Devon.

25th Thursday – Kansashi Flowers
Beautiful flowers are made by folding, manipulating and stitching cotton fabrics. This is a Japanese craft producing many petalled flowers, ideal for corsages, decorating bags, headbands, and is even made into wedding head pieces.

27th Saturday- Bakewell Farmers Market

28th Sunday – The Art of Drop Spindling
By popular request Marilyn returns to run this beginners drop spindle day. It is an excellent inexpensive way to get into the art of spinning. Explore different weights of spindles, yarns and finally learn how to ply your yarn together.

31st Wednesday – Woven Tartans
Explore pattern creation on your rigid heddle loom. Using a limited range of colours learn how to weave your own tartan and how to tie in new colour warp threads. With our hand dyed pre-felts cut into strips and weave together, felt as a cushion cover panel or use as wall hanging.
